KATHMANDU – Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli commended the bravery of UN peacekeepers, particularly those serving in the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), during an event at the Nepali Army Headquarters marking UN Day 2024.

Highlighting their dedication, PM Oli said peacekeepers' resilience in challenging situations embodies the true spirit of peacekeeping and inspires efforts to uphold global peace and security.

He emphasized Nepal’s unwavering commitment to the UN Charter’s ideals, noting the country’s longstanding contributions to peacekeeping, international treaties, and disarmament. “I am immensely proud of our peacekeepers, whose efforts have left a lasting impact in conflict-affected regions worldwide,” he said.

Outlining Nepal’s foreign policy, the Prime Minister reiterated adherence to peaceful coexistence, sovereignty, and non-interference, stressing the nation’s principle of “Friend to all, Enmity to none” as a key to navigating its position between two major neighbors.
