PM Oli: SAARC Key to Mutual Trust
KATHMANDU – On the auspicious occasion of the 40th anniversary of SAARC Charter Day, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli extended warm greetings and cordial felicitations to the governments and people of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) member states.
In his message, Prime Minister Oli underscored SAARC’s pivotal role in fostering mutual trust, understanding, and cooperation among its members. He reiterated Nepal's unwavering commitment, as the current Chair of SAARC, to the principles and objectives of the SAARC Charter aimed at building a peaceful, prosperous, and integrated South Asia. These sentiments were shared in a press statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today.
The Prime Minister also highlighted the pressing socioeconomic and environmental challenges confronting the region, including climate change and transnational organized crimes. He emphasized the importance of revitalizing the SAARC process to advance the shared interests and prosperity of the region's people.
